Whenever I remove a virus from a client’s computer, it seems I always get asked, “What is the best virus software?” or “What virus software do you recommend?” I usually point clients to PC Magazine’s reviews for guidance since viruses are constantly popping up and it is hard to keep up. I usually do mention that some Internet Service Providers have virus software available for free, or greatly reduced prices. For example, my ISP (AT&T U-verse) gives its customers free access to McAfee’s Security as a part of the monthly fee for internet service. One thing I try to stress is no matter what you choose to use, make sure you have some sort of virus protection on your computer.
